Hi! Im Ruthie! Ruth, whatever.
I am a human, a woman, a friend, a partner, a guardian of many plants, and the two most adorable fluffy dogs you've ever seen. I promise.
Things to know about me:
-I wear jumpsuits whenever possible
-Coffee and peanut butter are both very legitimate food groups in my life
-Ironically I prefer animals over humans, even though I work professionally with humans everyday
Why pottery?
From a very early age I was always seeking new experiences, specifically experiences that required all of my physical and mental attention. My mom enrolled me in every class she could find; which lead me to my first pottery class in the basement of a big theater.
I distinctly remember walking down the weird dark hallways, and catching a whiff of something new...musty, earthy, dirty...clay.

The spark that started it all...
After that first class I was hooked. I asked for more clay classes, and sought out every opportunity I could to play in the clay.
As I continued to grow up, a very annoying thing started to happen.
The years flew by.
Faster and faster, each year bringing with it new requirements and expectations.
High school, College, Graduate school...
I began to lose my spark, lose the ability to see the opportunity for play and creation.
Ruthie B. Pottery was born!
Which leads me to today, somehow. Here I am at 31 years old, returning home to myself, and what I have always loved.
After battling my way through academia during a Global Pandemic, and then trying to launch my business during the Federal ICE Occupation of my sweet state of Minnesota, I was done trying.
Ruthie B. Pottery doesn't feel like effort, it's simply me.
